The Hawks
About the Club
Proudly Established 1918
Our History
Founded in 1918 as No. 1 Mill, Deanmill Football Club was born from the heart of the local timber community in Western Australia's South West. What began as a team representing mill workers quickly became a central part of life in the proud township of Deanmill.
In 1937, the club officially adopted the name Deanmill Football Club, shifting from its industry roots to represent the wider community. From that point forward, the maroon and gold became a symbol of pride for generations of local families.
Competing in the Lower South West Football League, Deanmill has built a reputation as one of the competition's most respected and successful country clubs. Across multiple decades — particularly from the 1960s onward — the club established itself as a consistent finals contender and premiership force.
A significant milestone came in 1997, when the club officially adopted the Hawks nickname. This new identity marked a modern era for Deanmill while continuing to honour the traditions and spirit that had defined the club for nearly 80 years.
Today, Deanmill Football Club proudly fields League, Reserves and Colts teams, along with a strong and growing Junior program. The club is deeply committed to developing young footballers, providing a clear pathway from junior ranks through to senior football, and ensuring the next generation carries forward the maroon and gold tradition.
